Standard Air Blade Air Knife

The standard air blade design is the original compressed air-operated air knife design. The atmospheric air is entrained by compressed air exiting a gap in the air knife. This utilizes a Coanda angle which bends the exiting flow of amplified air volume 90 degrees.

This converts energy usually lost as pressure drop and noise into useful, high-velocity airflow. That is used for blow-off, cooling, drying, and cleaning applications. The compressed air exit gap is maintained using a stainless steel shim. Also, shims may be added to increase the flow output if required.

All Nex Flow air knives are made with mounting holes to easily mount the units to machinery.   Nex Flow standard air knives are designed for full flow, which means that the amplified air flow exits from end to end from the air knife.

• This allows the user to place air knives for continuous airflow coverage when longer lengths need to be addressed.

Because of the unique design of the standard air knife, it can be placed against and matched up against a fat or curved surface such that the amplified flow will stick to that surface and create a laminar airflow barrier along that surface, making for a protective barrier against a contaminated environment.

This is ideal for some applications, such as camera lenses in industrial installations.
