Ion Blaster Beam
The Nex Flow® Ion Blaster Beam® neutralizes static electricity and removes dust up to 15 feet (4.6 m) away. It operates without any moving parts. Its laminar amplified airflow effectively blows off dust and neutralizes static electricity on charged parts. Additionally, its compact design allows for installation in hard-to-reach or confined spaces. The air volume and velocity are adjustable using a pressure regulator.
The Ion Blaster Beam® includes an air amplifier (Model FX40) with a point ionizer attached to a plastic unit at the amplified air outlet. This assembly mounts onto a strong metal stand, which can be secured to a surface. You can adjust and aim the unit in the desired direction. As the amplified airflow passes by the Ion Point, it ionizes the air. The plastic attachment prevents ionization weakening, maximizing static charge removal. The ionized airflow uses minimal compressed air to create a long, laminar cone of ionized air that eliminates static charge on the target.
In most applications, only a small amount of pressure is needed, often as low as 10 psig (0.7 bar). The Ionizing Point remains powerful and effective due to the plastic PET head, which prevents ion weakening. This feature makes the Ion Blaster Beam® more effective than other systems with metal housings.
Ion Blaster Beam
Powered by a high voltage supply, the ionizer produces positive and negative ions alternately. The air amplifier pushes these ions toward the target, neutralizing the charge on the surface. Because the airflow is laminar, it slows the recombination of ions, maintaining a high concentration even at great distances. However, the concentration of ions decreases with distance, which slows the neutralization rate. Therefore, extra exposure time may be required for targets far away, depending on the static charge extent.
The Ion Blaster Beam® has various applications. For example, it can blow ionized air into cavities like plastic containers to neutralize the inside and loosen dirt and debris caused by static charge. It is useful in gas tanks, water tanks, and automotive industry spoilers. In large molds producing plastic parts, static may cause plastic scrap pieces to stick to the mold after part removal. The Ion Blaster Beam® can remove these scrap pieces by blowing ionized air at one end, which carries the ionized air along the mold’s length, neutralizing and removing the scrap pieces.
